Sketchbook

Shanna Baldwin Moore, US

 Haibun

outlaw poets
tiptoeing
thru the badlands
pen in hand
awakening spirits
of long ago
strong men and women
taming the wilderness
respecting the land

the outlaw of time...
shadows on my wall
forever on this paper

 Haiku

harvest moon....
steals the color
from all the roses

Sijo

I see said the blind man who feels in colors only he knows
he sings of your being in the soft key of rose
sending sweet synergy from the night blooming jazzmen

Free Verse

strange clouds
sound of chanting
from the old ones
a rumble through the land
the sky lights up
in the east
a rain cloud drifts over
disintegrates into huge drops
drenched in minutes
Pele has been slumbering
snoring for twenty-three years
she awakens
with a hula
we bust out a bottle of gin
for the goddess
and the dance begins
rocking my world

Cinquain

lava
red and gold flows
down the mountain raging
colors of autumn in the trees
burning

Nature's Hug

magik
fills my senses
spreads to my finger tips
the feel of velvet on my cheek
the mist

by pass
heart surgery
the poetic chambers
free flowing songs to sing again
in sync

New Song

night wind...
sounds of a bass
in the bamboo

new song
from the bamboo
rythmn of the wind

a jazz beat
an unexpected scource...
lionell hampton in the bamboo

gentle wind...
has found a way
answers my song

Tanaga of the Wind

a new song with a jazz beat
bamboo chimes a tapping of feet
lionel hampton and the wind meet
and who is that saying "all reet"
