Trinis love a good
curried duck, and they agree, there is no better place to do
this sort of cooking than at the river side.
There is now an established culture of curried duck
competitions held, river side.
But; the rivers are also a place just to relax with friends
and soak up the natural environment
And; it is also at the riverside, that some bid their final
goodbyes, to friends and loved one in the
ceremony of cremation.

River Factoid
The Caroni River
is the largest river in Trinidad and Tobago, running for 40 km
app.28 miles, from its origins in the Northern Range, on the
island of Trinidad, through the northern lowlands of the
Caroni Plains and enters the Gulf of Paria at the Caroni
Swamp. The banks of the Caroni River is one of the sites for
Hindu cremations.
River
Superstition
Douens (Dwens) are
the souls of children who have died before they were baptized.
They are doomed to roam the earth forever. They are seen
playing in forests and near rivers and the odd thing about
them is that they have no faces and their feet are turned
backwards.
River Quote
How could drops of
water know themselves to be a river?
Yet the river flows on.
