Outbound

outbound
a seagull finds its path
in an empty sky

newborn kittens
blind for a time

turning back
the sound of willow wrens
scatter in the wind

her blue bicycle
left against the shed
berries still on the vine

into the darkness . . .
evening prayer

away at school
her rose garden continues
to bloom
